Helpful Hints for a Great Hedo Trip

Packing for your Hedo vacation

Common Hedonism packing wisdom says to pack in advance, wait a week, and then remove about 1/2 of what you packed out because you probably won't wear it!  Women should pack the sexiest clothes they can find, while men will usually be fine with t-shirts, shorts, 1 or 2 pair of long pants and maybe a collared shirt or 2, as well as fun outfits for the theme nights.  It will be hot & humid, so keep that in mind when packing.  Fun items like body glitter and "toys" are always noticed and appreciated.  However, it is your trip- bring what you are comfortable bringing, whether you are a minimalist or pack everything but the kitchen sink!

Don't Forget!

•    Sunscreen!!!! (the Jamaican sun is VERY strong, so apply ALL over throughout the day- even when cloudy/overcast)

•    Passports (make copies as well)

•    Medication/First aid items (Advil/Tylenol, Pepto Bysmol/Tums, Aloe Vera gel, Monistat, hydrocortisone, etc.)

•    Pens (to complete entry/exit forms, and to share your contact info with your new-found friends!)

•    Camera

•    Sunglasses

•    Bug spray

•    Cosmetics/toiletries (liquid soap and shampoo is provided, but additional is always helpful)

•    Costumes/Sexy Clothes

•    Casual Clothes (a sarong is always an easy item to use around the resort)

Additional Items that may be helpful
•    Large insulated mugs (saves a few trips to the bar!)

•    Costumes/toga materials

•    "Toys"

•    Lubricant/KY Jelly

•    $1 bills (if you desire to tip)

•    Night light

•    Water shoes

•    Lysol spray

•    Fe-breeze, or other fabric refresher

•    Favorite CDs/Reading material

•    Beach Bag

•    Phone card

•    Hat

•    Business Cards

Other Helpful Do's and Don'ts

  • Do: Drink plenty of water!  Between the heat, the sun, and the alcohol, it is easy to get dehydrated
  • Do: Carry an extra set of clothes in your carry-on bag, just in case anything happens to your luggage
  • Don't: Worry about your looks or your body!  No one cares about that- more important is your attitude.  Being friendly and open-minded goes a long way!
  • Do: Be as naughty as you dare with your attire.  This is your chance to strut your stuff and wear all of those things you've wanted to put on, but have been too shy!
  • Do: Bring something to wear to mealtimes- you must wear some form of clothing in the restaurants and main dining room (although it can be as skimpy as you like!)
  • Don't: Worry about getting "hard" in public. Many guys wonder about getting an erection when they get to the nude side (also known as "wood on the beach").  This is generally not an issue, mainly because you'll see all sorts of naked bodies over there- men, women, old, young, big, small- and your "equipment" will be so overloaded by nakedness that it won't know how to respond!  If you do happen to "wake up" - don't worry about it.  Get in the pool, jump in the beach, whatever.  The worst that will happen is some friendly teasing!
  • Do: Relax- don't be in a hurry for anything.  You'll often hear the expression, "Soon come, mon."  Soon come could mean anywhere from an hour to a day.  You're in Jamaica, go with the flow.
  • Do: Your research!  There are lots of sites and opportunities to learn more about Hedonism- spend some time learning about where you're going (don't be afraid to email Moe & Mo, too!)
  • Do: Make sure you have a discussion with your significant other (if you are traveling together) about some ground rules, what is okay to do, and what is unacceptable BEFORE you travel to Hedonism.  Nothing ruins a great trip faster than an argument!
  • Don't:  Drink too much or consume too many substances.  You don't want to lose valuable vacation time because you're sick or passed out!
  • Don't: Forget your prescription and over the counter medications.
Do: HAVE A GREAT TRIP!
